Are you prepared for your future?
If you are an APC employee who worked at least 160 hours during the course of your first 60 days of employment, you are eligible to participate in our 401(k) Retirement Plan. APC’s 401(k) plan provider is American Funds.
Regardless of what stage in life you are in, 401(k) should be an important piece to anyone’s financial security. An advantage to contributing to a 401(k)-retirement plan is not paying income taxes on what you defer until you take the money out.
To help you prepare for retirement, Alliance of Professionals & Consultants, Inc. offers you a retirement plan with an automatic enrollment feature. This means that eligible employees are enrolled automatically in the plan to make contributions through convenient payroll deductions, which will be invested in the default investment option for the plan – unless you choose other investment options.
Automatic Enrollment Feature- If you qualify and don’t opt out or make an affirmative employee contribution election, you will be automatically enrolled in the plan. 3% of your eligible pay will be withheld on a before-tax basis and contributed to the plan as an employee contribution.
During the 90 days after automatic contributions are first taken from your pay, you can withdraw the prior automatic contributions by turning in a Permissible Withdrawal Form to Capital Group- American Funds at www.capitalgroup.com . The refunded amount will be adjusted for any gain or loss.
If on or after the effective date of the automatic enrollment feature you elect not to contribute or to contribute at a rate other than the plan’s automatic enrollment percentage, the automatic enrollment feature will not apply to you.
Automatic Increase Feature- Your contribution level will be increased by 1% each year until your rate of contribution is 10% of your plan compensation.
You can stop your employee contributions (or choose not to participate) at any time and you can change or restart your employee contributions at any time by taking the following action: Access your account either by visiting the plan’s website at myretirement.americanfunds.com or by calling the toll-free number at (800) 204-3731. Select your new contribution percentage. Make your contribution election (select 0% if you choose not to participate).

For enrollment information, please contact American Funds directly at 1-800-421-4225.
Please note that residents are NOT limited to investing in their own State’s plan. Another state may offer a plan that performs better and has lower fees. If there is no tax break offered for in-state investors… shop around! The plan selected does not affect the student’s ability to enroll and use funds in other states. For example, an investor can live in NY, invest in a plan from NV and send a student to college in FL. Choose your plan based on its performance & resident tax rules, not college location.
