According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Charlotte increased its population by 1.1%. This growth ranks Charlotte as the 7th fastest-growing metro region in the area. According to the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, this growth correlates to approximately 84 people moving to the Charlotte region a day.
This increase in population in the Charlotte region correlated as expected to the dense population hub of Mecklenburg County. In 2021, Mecklenburg County alone saw a growth rate of .4% as the county added 3,936 people o the population.
